Chills & Drills
German Grammar for English Speakers
Level A1 Beginner Workbook with Key
Start your learning journey with Chills & Drills, the German grammar workbook for absolute beginners. All the assignments and short explanations are written in English for your convenience. The German vocabulary used in this book consists of "true friends" of English words, which should make practicing interesting and fun for those of you who have an English speaking background.
"Chills & Drills" focuses on the two key topics of the German grammar: the verb and the noun.
Chills & Drills²
German Grammar for English Speakers
Intermediate Level Workbook with Key
Chills & Drills² follows the same efficient recipe of relatively easy repetitive exercises ("drills") designed to illustrate and reinforce grammar rules, combined with an appealing vocabulary, cultural references, and humour ("chills"), all wrapped up in a crisp design. This workbook roughly covers the German grammar of the lower intermediate level (also known as A2), that is: the conversational past (Präteritum of haben, sein, geben, and the modal verbs and Perfekt of regular and irregular verbs, of verbs with separable and inseparable particles, Perfekt with sein) and the future tense in the first chapter, and the comparison (basic form, comparative, and superlative) and the declension of adjectives (in nominative, accusative, dative, and genitive) in the second chapter.
Chills & Drills³
German Grammar for English Speakers
Upper Intermediate Workbook with Key
Chills & Drills³ is the third workbook in a series designed to help English speakers master essential German grammar in a smart, light-hearted way. This volume tackles the (in)famous Konjunktiv II in all its aspects (hätte/würde/wäre, Konjunktiv II with modals, Irrealis, conditional, politeness, giving advice, past forms and indirect speech). It also thoroughly covers the dreaded passive voice (active vs passive, von vs durch, passive with modals, Vorgangspassiv vs Zustandspassiv, past and future passive, passive substitutes and werden as a main verb). Recommended for learners around B1/ B2 upper intermediate level.
